CTS? or Cold Start Inj- Auto Parts Store issue...

I called my local Napa Auto Parts store to find out if the carry the 'Cold Start Sensor and the Cold Start 9th Injector'.

The parts store says they have no listing for either of those parts, that I must have the wrong name for those two items. They have a cold start 'valve' that they can order for $150 bucks.

Does anyone know of a Parts Store Correct description for both items??? Thanks, Nitro

Cold start sensor is just a bi metallic strip type sensor last I knew. Might try going under temp sensor and than veriufying its the cold start one since it shouldnt be included under ecm sensors.

Its either on or off depending on temp.

9th injector or cold start injector should get u the injector as well. Again, might want to go thru injectors on the screen as well. They would list 8 for the actual injectors but only list a qunatity of one required for the cold start injector.

Sounds like you got a moron at the counter that doesnt know anything.

Best tip I can give u. If the parts store you visit cannot use a catalog to look up anything and can only verify it thru the computer, find another parts store with more knowledgeable help.

later

I work at NAPA and there are some dumb people out there. The cold start temp switch is part # TS7001 in echlin. It's about 78 bucks to a walk in customer and should be available overnight. They are feeding u a line of bs cause they don't have a clue about what u r talkin about. I haven't been able to locate the injector itself either though. I just had mine checked and cleaned when I changed my injectors though and it was fine.

you can use a 89 prom (have the VATS turned off) and do away with the 9th injector. Just unplug it, or get a plug for the holes.

Re: injector:

Thanks everyone for the input- Being new to the Camaro game, it's been a steep learning curve. I more than appreciate the parts number and will do a search for how to bypass the VATS. I've never messed with a computer chip before, but that's fine- time to learn something new!
Again, many-many thanks you all, Nitro

Or use an 88 prom and don't have VATS or a cold start injector.

My 88 most certainly had the ninth injector and VATS. I used a 89 PROM and eliminated the injector but kept the VATS....
