holley afpr install ?'s
i'm just got my old fpr off and was wondering if the metal ring w/ the lip needs to be tranferred over to the holley unit?
i searched the forums and found one guy that asked the same question but no one answered.
i searched the forums and found one guy that asked the same question but no one answered. it did have instructions. and it came w/ a housing, spring washer, new spring, and a diaphragm. the instructions say to reuse he torx screws and the base, but the old fpr had this like washer ring w/ a lip on it. Does it need to be reused looks like it does but the intrustructions say nuthing
I know the reinforcement ring, but don't know if the Holley spring can is strong enough to support itself without it or not.

If the small Torx bolts are long enough to reach through both the ring and spring can, and still provide at least 6-8 threads, I'd say use the reinforcement ring. If the screws are not long enough, the flange of the spring can is thicker, and is probably strong enough to seal the diaphragm/gasket without the reinforcement ring.
