Replacement Injectors?
Replacement Injectors?
I removed the Multec injectors in my 92 Z28 with a 5.7 liter engine. They are stuck from sitting too long. Who makes a quality replacement injector that fits like the original? I prefer not to have yellow or pink or some other bright color. Gray or black would be great. The GM injectors are $80 each. OUCH!
By the way, it was a royal PITA to get the lower front bolt on the passenger side out of the intake runners!!!! Be prepared to take your time when you decide to replace your injectors.

Injectors?
Start to finish about 2.5 hours or so :-)
Well, for quality injectors I would suggest just getting the Ford Racing/SVO injector and calling it a day.
Best way to do it would be to change the injector constant in the chip.
Injectors will run you about 220$ or so.
Stock replacement ones are junk and you pay way too much for them.

Check the rating on the Ford injectors. I think they are rated at a lower fuel pressure than the GM injectors - i.e. they will flow more fuel than the rated value at the TPI's fuel pressure. I think they have slots for the locking clips, but can't confirm that 100%.
I think they are based on 38.5 psi, whereas the GM's are at 45psi (someone please correct me if my numbers are off).
Jeg's has them:
JEGS High Performance - Ford Racing Hi-Flo Injector Kits

Get the SVO injectors, and get and adjustable fuel pressure regulator, cuase you'll need one eventually anyways.

I won't be changing the fuel press. reg. because the car only has 125 total miles on it. I just want to put a quality injector on it so I don't have to do it again.

What does the stock GM injector flow? 24 lbs.?
I would like to find someone who has done this swap so I make sure I am getting the correct injectors.

go to the summit racing website (summitracing.com ?) or better yet give them a call. Members here use the SVO injectors all the time.
According to the ACCEL fuel injector catalog your stock injectors were 21 lbs.

I have a set of 8 injectors that I bought new last year from Advance Auto, only used for 8k miles. I just upgraded to 24lb injectors and I have these 19lb's sitting in a box showing absolutely no signes of use at all. I want $110 for them shipped anywhere in the US,that is 1/3 of what I paid for them new and will not accept a penny less. I have no trader feedback on here but I do on www.corral.net (zx3) www.popsracing (zx3) and Ebay (danthelister). I accept USPS money or PayPal - Welcome for payments. tabesperon@yahoo.com is my email

You could do what I did. Send your stock injectors off to Cruzin Performance. The owners name is Rich, and he's a REAL nice guy. He took my injectors, on my car, which sat for 6 years, and has 96k on it, and rebuilt them, with new o rings, pintle caps and screens, and sonic cleaned them. He will even send you a before and after flow chart. He got ALL of mine in equal specs. I had 2 injectors hardly flowing at all till he rebuilt them. All that for 100 dollars total, including shipping. You won't be dissapointed. Besides, I'd keep a car like that all stock. That is one of a kind and a serious collectors car.

I don't think Rich does Multecs. The Ford ones won't look like the Multecs either. If you still want working replacements use the search feature and type in Ford Injectors. You should come up with a slew of threads.

I cant wait to see what a 125 mile Z28 looks like. Usually you only see the Turbo Trans Ams or GTA's with this kinda mileage.

On a car like that I think that I'd just bite the bullet and buy a new stock set from GM.
If you know the part number you may be able to get them for a lower price at gmpartsdirect.com

I am going to put a set of original 87 5.7L injectors in the car. They will look like the originals except the plastic on them is black instead of gray.
