slp runners install questions
i am looking too install my new runners this week,so i was wandering if anyone had any troubles putting them in or if the directions were pretty straight forwad and how long it took you .i `d appiciate any info on your jobns, thanks
http://www.slponline.com/inst/20004.pdf
there are the instructions for the install off of the slp site.
basically as far as i known its a bolt off the old ones and bolt on the new ones. the hardest part some would say is getting to the bolts that go across the underside of the plenum to the other runner.
I had my stockers off and didnt have any problems as long as i had an extension and swivel.

You won't gain any torque, but the idea of the runners move your power curve up a few hundred rpm. More revs, better for racing because you can build the motor with larger cams and have more gear later on. Ported tpi kicks ****.

I hope you at least port matched the runners. The runners I got brand new from SLP didn't line up with the plenum correctly and would've caused some major turbulence.

Having had my slp's on and off several times recently, here's my two cents worth of advice.
Check for interference in a few places, and keep your Dremel grinder handy. The bottom of the SLP's might rub on the base, misaligning the screw holes, particulary that little round lumpy spot. If you are using dressy allen head bolts check for clearance at the two center manifold bolts. They usually smack the bottom of the runner. I'd grind the manifold rather than the face of the runner.
I had to place the runners in position, catching two bolts slightly, then get the fuel rail in place. Otherwise the runner flange hung up on the rail. The valve covers may need to come off to reach the bottom runner bolts. I have taller Edelbrock's on and they were in the way.
Check for clearance for the injector harness clips at cyl 2 & 7. They are hidden behind the curve of the runner, and can be tough in install without clearancing the back of the runner. YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE A SIDE LOAD PUSHING AGAINST THE INJECTOR!
Did you remember to connect the sensor under the plenum? Run the vacuum hoses under there too while you can. The brake boost hose is easier to attach to the the back of the plenum BEFORE rather than after the plenum is mounted. Hand space under is cowl is at a minimum.
Time wise, it's two to three beers and several new vocabulary phrases.

Ive seen some pretty hacked-up jobs.. your's seem
to be gone about the right way.
The real secret to a good port job is attention to detail
and most importantly .. PATIENCE !!
