underdrive pulleys.. worth it?

just wondering on your guys opinions. I'm considering buying a three pulley set - underdrive for the crank, waterpump, and alternator.

let me know what you think.. worth it, hype, or very little gains?

They do work and are worth noticable horsepower. However, on a street car you will notice your headlights will dim while you're stopped at a light. If you also have other acessories running like a huge stereo it could use more power than your alternator can provide. Then your battery will die soon after.

MARCH do a set of pulleys called Power and Amp, it's supposed to drain less power... I may try them myself soon.

i have the march 2 piece set on my l98 (power and amp) and the motor was stock at the time of the install and noticed a gain throughout the power band almost instantly. not to mention it dropped my times and little over a tenth consistantly. Do it!

I put on the same kit on my car. The only down fall is some times my lights dim down at idle, but worth it in the long run!

Even the power and amp series should make the lights dim a little, but should be less than the other kit... The Power and Amp kit is supposed to give about 11HP and the normal 12.5HP...
