anyone from upstate NY to help me diagnose 86 tpi?

I wish to have a knowledgable third genner help me track down the source of my intermittant rough running and code 33. Iam willing to pay for the service.I am in 518 area code in upstate ny.I do not trust dealerships and would rather deal with people who truly know our cars. Cell number 518-542-4908

Thanks,
Matt

Wow. You're excluding a lot of potentially very helpful members. If you can figure out how to operate a multimeter and a paper clip, you should be able to diagnose the problem(s) without having someone stand over your shoulder.

Lacking any data or further information, my initial suspicion would be that the EGR valve may be hanging up (not sealing completely when closed), creating a huge internal vacuum leak and setting the error code for high MAP (inadequate vacuum).

I do want to fix it myself but have unfortunately thrown parts at this problem for a long time.Car is an 86 z28 w/replacement 5.7tpi setup .HEre is the list of what I have done in an attempt to get this car back to its "former glory"

Replaced:
tps
iac
fpr
injectors
fuel pump
maf
maf relays
maf pigtails
module
pickup
coil
cap
wires
plugs
o2
egr
ecm
prom
I can use a multimeter and would appreciate any direction you could give me.The car runs okay at statup stumbles around 1500-1800 rpm then throws the 33

In the process of deleting cold start because I found fuel in oil and it ran better after I pulled electrical connector off cold start

If the PROM you have installed has the correct MAF tables and is designed for a 350 instead of a 305, the '33' is likely related to a TPS voltage set too high or poor MAF grounding. Make sure your meter is resonably calibrated and check the TPS voltage again. If it is already at 0.54VDc at the closed throttle position, try reducing it to 0.48V (the low limit).

You may also want ot make sure the PCV system is working and has the correct PCV valve for a 350 instead of a 305.
