swaping 350tpi in for a bad 305tpi

I have a 1985 trans am that has a bad 305 TPI in it. I bought a used 350 TPI to go in it but i have run into to problems. First just above the oil filter on the 350 there are 2 hoses that run to the front of the engine and then to the left but aren't connected to anything. what are they suppose to be attached to or do the connect somewhere on my 85. I also don't know where to but a wire that comes off of the 9th post of the distributer cap. i know it's only 4 inches long but i can't find where it goes to. I have 2 things that i can't figuge out with the trasnmission. it's a 700r4. right beside the transmission lines there is a cable that has been cut but i can't find anywhere that it might have connected to. then i have a crappy memory of where things go when i take things apart and there is a hose that comes off the trasnmission that is on the same side as the lines but is a lot closer to where the driveshaft connects. it looks like a fuel filter off of a lawn tractor (just trying to create a visual image) and then it has a 4 foot rubber coming off of it. the piece is part of the transmission and only the hose can be taken off. please help me to get this swap done.

Those two lines above the oil filter are for the oil cooler. One goes to the radiator ,the other goes to the heater core.

The distributors are different between the '85 and '89 motors. Your original engine (and wiring harness) used the "coil-in-cap" distributor; that is, the coil is mounted inside the distributor. In '87, they switched to the "remote coil" distributor, which takes the coil, and moves it to a bracket on the side and then uses that 4" wire to connect it. You'll need to change the connectors on your original harness to use the newer distributor, but you'll need a wiring diagram to figure out which wires go where.

so instead of the one hose running from the heater core to the radiator, one runs to the oil cooler and the the other hose runs from the cooler to the radiator? i have the wiring harness for the 350 and the computer for it i'm just not sure where the wire goes to from the middle post of the distributer cap.
