will LT1 mass air sensors work on TPI?

Hello

I know that the LT1s have both MAF and MAP, but could i put a LT1 MAF on my TPI with no problems?

Thanks

The stock Bosch MAF on TPIs generates a linear voltage signal between 0 and 5 VDC to indicate the mass of air moving through the sensor. The LT1/4 Delco/Hitachi MAF generates a square-wave modulated frequency signal to indicate air flow through the sensor. Without some sort of external signal conditioning, the ECM won't recognize the signal.

Even if the signal could be translated from a modulated frequency to an analog voltage, the ECM will STILL only be able to interpret a maximum of 255 grams of air per second as a sensor input. The limitation in the system is not the MAF, but the firmware in the ECM (NOT the programming in the PROM or MEMCAL) which digitizes the input signals so the ECM can calculate them.

You will need something called a "translator" for it to work properly. They are not directly interchangeable.
