90-92 TPI K&N Filter - Throttle Body Mount

Anyone have this? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to having this? Is it worth it?
This would be going on a 92 350 TPI. The car also has a fully functional 2in cowl induction hood.

I wouldn't put that on. Think about where it is drawing air from? Right behind your rad, next to rad hoses that give off heat, plus the heat from the engine that stays inside the engine bay. This is what this air filter will be breathing! I would look at doing a CAI. Cool air is what your motor wants to run better.

I have one and never had a problem yet. I clean it more than the suggested 50,000 miles though. Your cowl well help out too. I have a factory hood and I had to remove the insulator mat because it was staining my filter. I like mine. A lot cleaner than a bunch of pipes to me.

It'll work. Probably not the optimal set up though.

I wouldn't use it. Porting and ramming air through a pair of K&N's into the factory camaro ducting is likely a better idea.

Do not use them. The suck way too much hot air from the radiator. I would rather have less CFM of cold air than a lot of CFM of hot air.

The best setup is the SLP cold air intake. The Camaro intake piece is too restrictive.

I agree. You do NOT want to be sucking in air from behind the radiator, it's too hot. You're better off with denser, cooler air from in front of the radiator. Do you have any idea how hot it gets under there in the summer when you are sitting in traffic? You really don't want that as your combustion air. Keep your stock air plumbing. Throw in a set of K&Ns or S&Bs if you must.

Forget the hot air, more important, they suck too much crap through for the minimal, if any, gain to be had.
