small changes now car wont idle
so i changed my spark plugs, and gutted my airbox, now my iroc wont idle. it starts up solid, then dies down but fires back up again, it'll run for about a minute and then die, the whole time getting close to dieing then firing back up. could this just be a bad O2 sensor? if so how could i check whether or not that's the culprit, or could it be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter or the fact that theres not much gas in the car?
The oxygen sensor is basically ignored for fuel control whenever the engine is in open loop mode and for at least 40 seconds after the engine is first started. Without looking, I'm not sure the S/D programming waits 40 seconds, but MAF programming does, and I suspect they are similar. Either way, you could even cut the wire on the O² and the ECM wouldn't care until the coolant was warm enough and the start up timer was satisfied. It's not the fault of the O².
What plugs did you use? What gap? Are there any error codes?

i'm using AC delco rapid fires with a .035 gap. the SES light comes on after the engine dies, but thats probably because the car is on but the engine isnt started , right?

Sounds like maybe a bad plug wire or Maybe one is loose. Check and make sure all plugs are gapped right.
