Cold air intake
What are most of you running for a CAI? Im looking for opinions on what you guys have. Not sure which to go w/. Give your opinions on the ones you guys are running. Thanks
the best ones are the ones you make yourself, dont waste 150 or more on some piping and a cone filter some idiot slapped together for you when u can do it yourself for under 50 bucks. you can either use PVC pipe and paint it or measure what size pipe u will need and go to an exhaust shop and get a 3 inch mandrel bent piece that size
Ok here is how I made mine.
1. Go to any hardware store and get a 4 inch to 3 inch rubber adapter and 3 or 4 3 inch rubber connectors (it should be around the pvc stuff) Also get a 90 degree elbow of pvc pipe then get a small straight piece of PVC and maybe like a 45 degree bend PVC pipe.
2. Paint PVC.
3. Remove all of your old intake piping, old airbox and charcoal canister.
4. Put 4 inch to 3 inch adapter on the throttle body, connect the 90 degree elbow to that.
5. Connect MAF to 90 degree elbow with 3 inch rubber connector.
6. Connect the rest of the piping routing it as close as you can to the fender.
7. Connect cone air filter.
Youre done! its that easy
If you want it to look more stock looking you can use an intake elbow off a 88+ TPI car in place of the 4" to 3" adapter and 90 degree elbow
