383 TPI stock chip?

I'm building 383 for my 86 Z28(short block is assembled ). I got some brodix ik180 heads. comp xfi cam 1100-5100RPM with 383. This car is built as a street, not a track car
Duration Advertised: 252° Intake / 266° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 208° Intake / 217° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.6 Rockers: .477'' Intake / .472'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 113°

Stock TPI on top with 24lb Ford blue top injectors, hooker shorty headers.

I will be able to get a 89 350 vette chip from tpiparts.net for cheap. Anyone run a similar setup like this with a stock chip? I don't really want to spend another 500 bucks at this point for dynotuning.

you can probably get by with the stock chip, but you won't get everything the motor has to offer.
i doubt the vette chip will be much better than your stock chip.
dyno tuning will probably only be done for WOT with little to no attention to part throttle or cruise.
my recommendation would be to get the stuff & learn to burn your own for it.

You'll have problems with the VATs on the Vette chip. Plus you have the cold start injector. You'll want the F-body 1988 350 chip in the link below matching your gear ratio.

https://www.thirdgen.org/camaro-tpi-...cation-numbers

The chip has a 22# constant,,, and with your cubes and combination, you might get lucky and that match up well with the 24#. You'll want to get an AFPR if you don't have one already. If idle is a little rich,,,, you can descreen the MAF sensor and that will typically smooth things out a bit,,, just take care while doing it and not break the filament. Be sure to port the Plenum if you haven't,, that just free air.

I had a fuel injection problem for a short time (Accel injectors, now Ford Motorsport) and while troubleshooting I used the stock chip and a HYPERTECH chip, both worked fine, though the custom chip definitely boosts the power.
