ideal operateing temperature?

Car: 1985 chevy camaro iroc-z
Engine: 350 currently gettin built up ask?
Transmission: 700r4 with holeshot 2400
Axle/Gears: 3.23, thats stock i think???
ideal operateing temperature?
I am custom tuning a chip, and need to know a ideal operateing temperature. Any good suggestions? I have a 180 degree thermostat. Thanks

160 is too cold for a street car.
Argue all you want but look at boiling points and all the good stuff and you will see my point.
There are many reasons cars are made hot from the factory.
Largest is due to emissions, warmer is better, warmer is more efficient and can use a leaner mixture as well.
Think about it? Why would NASCAR want to keep there cars running around the 200 mark? Say what you will, but they do set them up for best power/economy at every track they run. Power is favored more, but if they can run with the pack they will use a mileage type approach.
160 on a stock car is a waste of time and money.
If u want to waste gas do it, I can pretty much guarantee u wont be any faster because of it either.
Get a 180 T-stat and burn a chip to have fan 1 run at 190 or so and off at 180 and use a grand national high speed fan swithc for the second fan.

My stock car came with a 160 degree stat, was getting crappy milage as the car was always running slightly richer, swapped it for a 180 degree one, car ran better and gained about 40 miles extra per tank.
