At what horsepower would you say a stock TPI intake setup becomes a restriction? I'm talking about the plastic piece that goes over the radiator.

I honestly don't think it's as restrictive as it looks. Traxion here ran mid 11s at 117 N/A using the stock Y-intake. But I believe it was modified for more flow where it meets at the Y...you might wanna PM him for details.

youll have problems with the tpi manifold being to restictive, before the flum becomes the problem.
My buddy just ran his pretty much stock L98 (exhaust & 1.6 rockers) on the dyno the other day. With the K&N filters in, he put down 206whp and 286wtq. He then took the filters out (he has gutted air ducts, but stock Y-intake) and ran again with a surprise. 212whp and 290wtq. With just the air filters out it put down an extra 6hp and 4tq. He's changing the stock y-intake setup for a custom piece, prolly gain another 6-10hp.

I ask because I want a better way to set up my TBI intake setup...still using the stock air cleaner and single snorkel intake from the original L03.
