Water & The TPI Throttle Body
I took my TB off yesterday and cleaned it up really good. I used spray carb cleaner and a toothbrush, then I went to simple green and some water. After about 2 minutes into cleaning with the simple green and water, it occurred to me that there are electrical components on the throttle body!! Did I completely ruin them, or will they be OK after they have dried out?

Thanks. It will be about 5-7 more days until they go back in, so they will have plenty of time to dry.
I also hit them with some compressed air as soon as I realized I was being an idiot. Thanks for the peace of mind!

No sweat, LOL, Kinda reminds me of when I was doing some prom burning and left my passenger side window down and it rained on my ECM for 2 straight days. It was fine. Just be sure to dry it ASAP, I would be a tad worried about the IAC windings possibly rusting. Use WD-40, should displace the water as well.

Forgot to mention that I shot the whole thing down with WD-40 after it air-dried. Thanks again!
P.S. What are the IAC windings? I thought the IAC was under the plenum near the rear.

IAC is Idle Air Control. It's a step motor in the TB that bleeds air off to maintain intake air. It is has a square four wire connector to it below the TPS.
