Motor dies when shifting to reverse & drive
Just as I stated...motor dies when shifing to reverse or drive , but if you hit the gas just a little, and let off, it will idle fine in gear. EVERYTHING is new, except distribtor (sp?) all sensors, new motor & trans. injectors, all vacuum lines, EVERYTHING.....what could cause this problem? If more info is needed let me know.

I would clean the throotle blades and remove the IAC and clean it. There is a specific method on how to prperly remove the IAC, clean it, and re-install it.
I think that the IAC is slow to respond when it needs to turn out & allow more air into the plenum.
Then do the IAC reset procedure and set minimum air, and set the timing.

I'll go with Doc on this one.
Sounds way to much like a TB cleaning and setting along with the IAC and TPS.
Follow the procedure here in the tech articles and then worry about chasing leaking distributors (sorry, had too)
later

TB has been cleaned, IAC is new, distribtor has 165,000 so shaft is worn bad.
TPS is set at .55 volts.
My tach is not good enuff to set min. idle air (motor dies befour it get to 500RPMs) need better tach (fri.) and will set it again and see what happens.
thanks guys,
joe
