major problems
ok. so my 85 is having some troubles.
i have an 88 TPI 305 in it, the problem is that it just doesnt want to run well.
it runs extremely rich, ive replaced the plugs and wires, the TPS, and the fuel filter and havent gotten anywhere. i dont have any trouble codes at all.
it starts right up every time, but when i put my foot on the throttle it loses RPMs and trys to die. if i let it idle long enough it will die on its own, and it idles pretty rough.
im just about at the end of my patience with it, and i have absolutley NO clue what to do.
any tips, ideas, suggestions?

well, maybe its getting too much gas. Check out your fuel pressure. Check all your injectors also.
Could be a bad fuel pressure regulator or you could have a couple bad injectors that are just dumping the gas in.
When I swapped my cam. I couldnt get it to run for crap. I still took it to get tuned so they could check it out. I had 5 bad injectors. So 5 out of 8.....I was looking pretty good hey? LOL. Anyway check those things out and keep us informed.

I was having that exact problem today. My MAF was unplugged! Check that, also your TPS may not be adjusted correctly.
Maybe your MAF is dead, do you have a check engine light? Engine will run (barely) with MAF not working/unplugged, but anything over about 3000RPM and the engine will take a big fat DUMP.
