stock heads, cam, and intake

Im trying to see if i can get my car into the 13's with stock heads, cam, intake, and gears. I have 2.77 i just want to hear what i should get that i can install myself. I have a 2,000 grand limit. My current mods and drag times are in my signature.

one thing that would help you out alot would be to put a converter in it. that would drop your 60 ft probably 2 tenths if not more. also learn, or have someone who knows, how to burn your own proms. I havent actually done it with my car yet but there seems to be a lot to be had from it (stay away from off the shelf proms) between those two items you should be in the 13's with only using half of your budget.

Agree. Definitely possible with a converter, some sticky tires, and good driving. PROM work would be helpful too. You can do all this within your budget.

I agree.

I have a 2400 B&M holeshot and it made a big difference. No times, I don't drag much, but seat of the pants was awesome!

Converter and slicks might do it.But this like intake would help.

i dont know if it would be all that simple. did you spin any off of the line. what was your timing at on that run. i still think with that much money you should get there with some to spare.

while your at it box the rear control arm and panhard

Or buy some new stuff

this will help with the twist caused by the slicks and high stall

stall, a good tune and suspension mods should do it. i think the gears really are killing you thou. get some 3.23s that will help hugly. if you really dont want the gears than the mods above should do the trick.

Slicks, and a stall should get you where you want to be; that or nitrous. Don't be afraid to go a little overboard on the stall, say a 3000 lockup. The price is higher but it's worth it especially with the 2.77's. With a 2,000 grand limit though why not just buy a jet

Spray it.
I have changed my cam, but still stock heads and intake.
Best on the g-tech was about 14.1-14.2.
With the nitrous I was about 12.8-12.9.

lol im afraid of nitrous probaly end up blowing my engine even though its in good shape but it has 111,000 miles. I think a converter is a good idea too im thinking of a vigilante lock up 2800rpm stall. I would do gears but i cant find ones for a 9 bolt that arent like 300+ then theres the installation and a 3 series posi probaly 600 right there not to mention having them installed probaly buy a set of rear iroc wheels to put some mickey thompson drag radials 255/50/r16's. When i do the stall i might get a trans go shift kit from 700r4/4l60.com and a cooler and new pan. As for suspension goes i was looking into boxed lower control arms from bmr and umi lower control arm relocation brackets. So with shift kit, converter, drag radials, lcarbs and lca i think i could hit 13's pretty easy. Just last night i pulled up to a 2001-2004 mustang gt and beat him by a car from a 30 mile roll. And raced my friends hemi truck with 3.92 gears gave me hell from 30-60mph at my door then when 60 hit the hemi was done.

I'de stay with your 2.77's and go up a little on the stall, maybe 3200, if you're getting a Vigalante the price is set so you can get whatever stall you want in it. The shift kit and cooler will compliment the stall very well. If you're not getting wheel hop now you will once the stall goes in so the LCA's and brackets is also right in line with what you'll need. I got my car into the 13's and now I'm shooting for mid 13's. Next round of mods includes my ported base, LS1 injectors, and new prom. Good luck on the build, it looks like you're definetly headed in the right direction.
