zz3 cam

Hello to all i am new to board i have an 87 iroc which i am installing new injectors 24 lb it has a L98 in it which when i rebuilt i installed a zz3 camshaft i also installed a melling oil pump which is a high volume. and lots of other goodies the cylinder heads ar casting number 082 wich i find strange because they are a GM service head rated for 300 HP and these are the stock heads because i bought car from origional owner. i also had them ported to . the qusestion i need to know is do i need to use a bronze dist gear or is the one that came stock ok to use because i did notice some wear on dist gear when i removed it from engine . i am going to be replacing gear when i put back together just wanted to know a good replacement gear.
thanks for any info
steve

Use the stock gear. The stock gear will wear if it was not new when the new cam was installed. The stock gear will also wear with a high volume oil pump, if you put too much load on the gear. Make sure not to rev the engine when the oil is cold this will help the gear last longer.
