Caught it just in time!
Wow did I dodge another bullet...I know I haven't posted in a while but here is my story. The Z started to idle really rough about two days ago, like I had a huge cam in there. And everytime I would park and get back in my car it would smell like gas, not a hint just straight gas. So i popped the hood to check some stuff, heard a vacume leak. Turns out it was the fitting from the FPR it was pushed off and gas was commin out.
So talk to a service tech at the dealer, to make sure this is a problem which I thought it was, "yeah u need a new FPR" how much to replace it? "about $700" wow ok no thanks.
Went to autozone got a rebuild kit for the regulator and about two hours later problem fixed, for about $50 in parts and the stupid tamper proof torx bits.
The thing is when I took the plenum off it was full of fuel, I came very close to hydro locking the engine, again...strange thing is this happened about 9 months ago, only that time the engine filled with fuel and was a big pain, since the plugs had to be pulled and the cylinders had to be drained. What is the deal with these regulators?
Man o man did I dodge another bullet with this car...she definitly deserves a rebuild in the near future after all she has been through in the past year, plus she is gettin old up to 176K on her now
