Very nice and all the numbers seem to be about right except for the second one.

This calls for the definition of what is a TPI? I don't considerer a Miniram to be TPI. I don't consider Superram to be TPI. I don't consider the Holley Stealthram to be TPI.

In my mind you need three things to be considered TPI. One a factory style plenum. The First plenum would be considered factory style IMHO as an example.

Two runners. I would consider any runners that will bolt to a factory style plenum and factory style intake to be considered TPI. This includes Edelbrock, SLP, AS&M, First and others. They can have any amount opening up and siamesing done.

Third is the intake. I would consider any factory style to be TPI. This would include the Edelbrock, Accel, TPIS and First as examples. They can also be siamesed and opened up.

These are just my thoughts and any opinions welcomed.

I somewhat agree.

You can call a tunnel ram style intake "tuned" imo, anything with long runners designed to promote power in a certain RPM range is condsidered "tuned"

Single plane style intake IMO are not tuned.

You don't think that single-planes are "tuned"? They're "tuned" to support 7000 RPM+. Anything that revs has a very short intake tract.

I agree. Anything other than "stock-like" TPI is simply not a TPI.

It's just my opinion but I don't consider the last 3 cars on the list as having TPI.

It's nice to see my 91 Camaro RS - B4C in your list.
Did you vote for my car for "car of the month"?
I always seem to be in the top 10.
I'll get close to within the top 3. (Like now)
Then several cars will come out of nowhere to be on top.
If anyone would like to vote for my car, here is the link back to my page:

http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...slip-5874.html

Although your list included the major modifications, several mods that were listed in the Comments section bottom left corner of the page were overlooked. Individually many of the modifications made very little difference in lowering the ET.

Also it's good to remember that elevation, temperature, barametric pressure, humidity & track prep all play a large part as in how fast TPI cars will go.

Complete list of Current Mods include:
Factory Stock 350 TPI
Stock 700R4

Jet TPI air foil...
K & N air filters...
Gutted air boxes...
MSD Blaster replacement coil…
TPIS plug wires...
Bosch platinum plugs...
Throttle body coolant bypass...
Empire Inland aluminum driveshaft...
March steel underdrive pulleys # 4405...
Edelbrock ceramic coated TES headers...
Catco dual cats replacements...
Flowmaster American Thunder 3" catback exhaust...
TPIS mat relocation kit...
Meziere electric water pump...
Motive master kit & 3.42 rear gears...
Summit aluminum heavy duty diff. cover...
Spohn adj. torque arm…
UMI adj. Pan hard bar
UMI lower control arms & relocation brackets…
(Just a note: the suspension pieces did not lower my 60' times by .10 as
advertised. They did add 40 lbs to my car, but I have yet to beat my
best 60' time of 1.835 on Goodyear Ultra HP street tires.)

Much of the same information is repeated at my cardomain site:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2175519
which includes a scan of my dynojet dyno run on 11/18/06
Max power 239 and max torque 345.1

Good list. Thanks for puttin' that together. I think it's important for EVERYONE to realize that there are SO many variables out there that this is really nothing more than some interesting reading. It's also important to keep something in mind: If most of us L98 guys bolt up a muffler and and some K&N's and go run low 14's, we're probably not gonna post up our times. But if all the planets align, you have good day, and you have one of the fabled "fast" TPI cars, you go run a 13.6, then darn right you're gonna post up!!! Then some newbie on Thirdgen.Ord runs across this thread and thinks that's what he should be running, and it just ain't gonna happen for him. I see it SO much here on TGO. One kid has some good luck with a certain combo, then some veteran questions it and all of a sudden we have an argument on whether or not a TB airfoil really gains 25 HP!!!!!!!

Just take everything with a grain of salt unless you know all the facts!

haha good point..... and yes i know its winter sir, but that list was PRETTY specific lol thats why i thought it was a bit ridiculous to be asking it.

ps. THE TB airfoil ADDS 50 HP +!!!!
