what do I need to move if i buy SLP intake?

I'm interested in getting the SLP cold air intake for my 1991 Trans am. My battery is on the driver's side. Will I need to relocate anything? I've heard part of the fuel system and the battery may need to be moved. What parts do I need to relocate?

Thanks!
Bill

what intake are you getting? My "stock intake set up" was on the passenger side. All i had to do was....well was supposed to move the charcoal canister. But I just tossed it in the trash. I bought the SLP cold air induction summit part # SLE-21000. But I got it cheaper because they price match.

I ended up ordering SLE-21010 (I think) from Summit racing last night. I heard I need to move my fuel vapor canister. What the heck does this thing do anyway?

Thanks!

it cleans up all your unburned fuel. I plugged my lines, cut my wires and taped it up. Now you can't even tell I was suppost to have one.

I'm guessing that if I remove it, my emissions are gonna hurt. I live in NJ, and they have a smog test.

In order to use the kit, did you need to cut a hole in the side of your engine bay? I honestly can't run out and look at my car right now (because it's in the shop). Is the material you need to cut through steel or plastic?

Yes, you are correct. Then you have to re route it to the drivers side, and tuck it down next to your battery. You need to buy longer vaccume hose, and some wire to make the wires reach. The auto parts store sell the vaccume hose connectors, so you can hook up 2 hoses together.

No, once you remove the charcoal canister, it bolts right to the opening on your fender well. I might be able to get a pic of mine. or maybe you can see it in one of the pics in my Vbgarage.

So to use the SLP intake I need to buy vacum hose and wires for the fuel canister?

How much do I need?

According to the online instructions at SLP's site (which don't include the 90-92 version since they don't sell it anymore), it comes with some wiring and tubing. Maybe I need more?

Turns out I found the instructions for the 90-92 version. According to this there should be some tubing and wiring. Do I need more?

well your going to have to route it and see. You want it to look good. I would also get some wire ties. That way you done have wires and vaccume hoses hanging all over the place. I think if I remember right, they give dont give you enough, and they want you to go infront of the motor with all the wires and hoses. I would reroute everything along the firewall to make it look good.

Thanks again guys!

Like I said, I cant run out to the store right now. How many wires do I need? 1? 2? What size vaccum tube is required? Is one brand of vaccum tube better than another?

Anything else that needs to be extended or rerouted besides one vaccum tube and some wiring?

I wish they still made the dual intake one, for the 90-92's. Id snap one up like that. Hell id even buy a used one if those even existed.
