Hey guys i need some help. I have a 89 camaro that was tbi, i have a 350 carb motor in it and it will not tune. I`ve had 3 carbs and countless hours into this induction. Well i have had it .I`m looking at efi. i think holley is junk and the rest is expensive. So now i`m thinking TPI. My combo is 355 ,vortec heads,268 extreme cam,1.6 rockers,headman shorties. Will tpi work well with this combo.What hp would i see? If so which type would you recomend MAP or Mass air. Either is available all over. anything would help.. MATT

 

That setup is going to want more air than a stock TPI system can provide. I would advise something like the Holley StealthRam intake or maybe a converted LT1 intake. Either way you can use the TPI electronics, and with a couple of nifty little gadgets from Moates.net you can tune it real-time through a laptop. Tuning is a little more touchy with a MAP system, but that's still the system I would recommend. MAF systems depend too heavily on a single sensor, and if it ever goes out the MAF is expensive to replace.
