is this a good 5.0 street motor?

im doing a budjet rebuild, and so far i have a complete rebuild kit from federal muegal picked out, with aluminum speed pro pistons (8.7.1 c.p with 64cc)
and hooker shorty headers, march pullies, and a comp compu cam with , Hydraulic Roller Tappet, Advertised Duration 262/264, Lift .450/.480, Chevy, 305/350... stock heads rebuilt,,, maybe vortecs after a few months

im guessign ill need to flsh or "burn" a chip for the mods, and im thinkin of 24 injectors and a 58mm throttle.

anything else? any tips? would lt4 hotcam be a wiser choice? or should i tone down my cam choice already? anything i havent listed remains stock,,,, i might need a new crank due to spun bearing? suggestions to stoker?

maybe i should buy rebuilt vortec heads first? i found some for 500 canadian,, and they were on a boat for only 50 hours

but do vortec heads change anything? maybe header choices? or pully set up? i know about intake already,, easy to fix with bottom plenum

Vortec heads are a good cheap choice. Just make sure the springs can handle the lift of the cam you choose.

ive heard vortecs can handle 470? but i dont know if that means stock springs or what? cuz the cam im getting comes with springs,, so everything SHOULD be compatible... unless it bottoms out the heads? do i have to mill them or something dumb? all this talk about high lift makes me want to keep stock cam

you'll need a vortec compatible intake... your stock intake will not bolt up to vortec heads.

you will also need votec headers/manifolds for the stockers or normal thirdgen headers will not work.

Ummmm.... theres no difference between vortec heads on the exhaust side then any other SBC head... you should be fine with regular old SBC round tube headers.
