tpi swap.. do i have vats now that i changed my ecm

hi... i got a 89 firebird which had vats.. but the car i had before it got wrecked was an 87 and didnt have vats.. i used the complete set up from the 87 because the 89 was a tpi.. so since i have the older computer i dont need to hook up vats.. right.. i can just use an regular ignition cylinder .. please help.. thanks..

the only thing you may need to do is bypass the starter enable relay if you didn't change out that part of the wiring.
look for it behind the drivers side kick panel

at the starter enable relay there are 2 yellow wires, if one of them is bigger than the other, use the big one. you want to hook the yellow wire up to the dark green/white tracer.
you can either make a jumper wire or cut & splice them together.
if you make a jumper, use wire that is the same size or a little bigger than the dark green/white tracer
a jumper is the easiest way, unplug the connector from the relay, find the right two terminals & plug the jumper in, tape it up so you won't have any shorts.
