400 hp under 2500?

i was hopping i can get about a 400hp for under 2500, but id like the bulk at street level cruising as i dont race much. If this is even possible to get most of the hp below 3500 or should i stay stock. also i dont want to change out of the tpi

Re: 400 hp under 2500?

i'm sure it can be done, if you shop around or possibly know someone. my buddy has a 360hp or so vortec 350 and he only put about 600 bucks into the motor and then added intake/carb. he also now got a lsx 6.0 liter and complete it should make near 420whp all for about 1000 bucks...

it depends where u get your parts man.

but yeah, for a 400hp TPI car, most of your money will be in your heads/cam setup. you need decent heads and cam to make 400hp. even modified TPI should be looked into. for 2500? it could be done i'm sure..but you'll have to shop around.

Do you need to burn a new chip for the LT4 cam?

Re: 400 hp under 2500?

stay stock. 400hp at or below 3500rpm with a 350 not happening.
certainly when you dont want to replace any tpi parts.
this has been heavily covered do a search.

Re: 400 hp under 2500?

you should have a chip made for the LT4 cam, but it will run in MAF cars with a little fuel pressure tuning and readjusting the IAC

i did do a search, its just not easy to find what i was looking for. I might do something like vortec heads, dif intake(any ideas on a good one), and a hot cam.

Re: 400 hp under 2500?

Vortec heads are great, but you're going to need an expensive *** intake manifold to fit them on your TPI. I'd consider a good set of ported 416's or so if you looking at a $2500 budget.
