need help with code 43,anyone?
made a post,it went nowhere...
anywho, heres the long story short, 88 iroc T5 tpi car,100% stock except for K&N filters and gutted airbox.
problem is,under WOT my check engine light will come on once i get to around 80-110 mph, anything less, its fine.
code 43 pops up
ive tested everything i know for this code, whats puzzling me,is that im getting +12 volts TO the knocksensor, sources say i should be getting 3-4?
ive tested this with 2 different ESC modules{one known to be perfect} and i get the same issue with either sensor.
my grounds are good, what could it be?

dont know if this helps but, my exhaust was rattling against the car a little and it was setting a code 43, false knock i guess. so i bypassed it with a 4kohms resistor until i got my exhaust fixed, havent seen code 43 since. by the way did you check the knock sensor's resistance?

yeha,im getting anywhere from 3800-4200 ohms.
but fro mwhat ive read,i should be seeing a 4-5 volt reference signal TO the knocksensor...and right now im getting 12+ volts with KOEO

3800 to 4200 ohms is the correct knock sensor resistance for a 90-92 speed density car. You need one with 100,000 ohms for a 85-89 MAF car.
Re: need help with code 43,anyone?
i have a spare KS,that i know is for the 86-89 cars,it was dropped at one point, and i know how fragile these are...but i ohm'd it out,and it is 100k ohms,is it worth tossing in the car to see if it helps or fixes the problem?
also, what about the +12 volts at the KS wire? my other question was, when taking the volt reading on the KS wire, does it matter if it is plugged into the KS or not?

no because you're reading the voltage TOO the KS. which will always be 12v. its the voltage coming FROM the knock sensor that you need to worry about. but just toss that extra and you'll be fine. if its reading 100k ohms then your good to go.
