What happens if I want to install a 2-piece rear main, non roller block in my 89?

First of all, will having non-roller cam and valvetrain have any ill effects on the computer?

Second, what do I do about the 2-piece rear main seal? What exactly will I need to replace to make it mate up to my 700R4?

Thanks

The transmission doesnt care what seal you have on the back of that engine. What it mates up to is a the flywheel. I believe you'll need a different flywheel for a two piece seal crankshaft. Also the computer won't care if the lifters are rollers or not. If you want to do a stock rebuild, try to find a cam with specs close to the stock cam, if not go for the $140 kit from Summit for their 2030 or 2040 CompCams.

All I think you will need is a flywheel for that crank and a new starter nose for the flywheel.

Yes.. the brackets have two bolts per side that bolt to the lower front part of the block. They are there on the older two peice blocks as well. If you use the 87+ heads all the bolt holes will be there for the heads. If you use the older style 76cc heads 882s,993s, most only have one or two per side that is tapped for the later serpentine belt brackets.
