coil ground?

I am trying to track down some misfire issues on my 87 GTA, I have heard that my car should have a coil ground wire that also attaches to the distributor base?

Where on the coil bracket should this be at, I have looked and am unable to locate one. The previous owner installed a MSD coil on the car.

Thanks

Re: coil ground?

Neither my 88 nor my 92 have coil grounds.

Re: coil ground?

Thanks for the info. I didn't think it was supposed to have another ground.

Re: coil ground?

The stock coil "ground", if you want to call it that, is the fact that the metal armature around the coil is bolted to the intake. Even so, I've run MANY times with the coil hanging in mid-air with no ground it and works just fine. The wires to the coil do the real work, not what the coil is bolted to (or NOT bolted to).
