A touchy subject evidentally
I've done a few searches and after hours of reading I still don't know.
91 TBI to 91 TPI. Other than wiring, chip, fuel pump, accessories and various sensors . What else is involved to make it run.
To get the LO3 to perform as a 305tpi it would need the heads swapped and the cam as well correct. That would get a baseline 305TPI, or am I way off?
I am not concerned with upgrading performance just want to get to the factory benchmark right now. I have had a complete setup offered at 250 bucks off a totaled 91 Z28. Bang for the buck if I ever heard it.
I know the ongoing debate between tbi vs. tpi, but me personally I've always wanted TPI. I have researched tpi build ups for at least 10 years. I have never ben lucky enough to find a good deal on a good tpi car but I more less stole my 91 Lo3, (500 cash and all was wrong was a busted door glass and minor cosmetics, which are history now) and if that's not enough to convert it just looks a he11 of alot cooler under the hood.
