I wanna go fast!! Suggestions...??
Ok...I'm in the process of rebuilding my '89 Trans Am GTA 5.7 TPI, auto, 3.23 The car is almost entirely stock with the exception of some new plugs and wires and other minor things. I'm planning on getting a
new cam (any suggestions on which kind?), 1.6rr
AFR 190 heads
slp 1 3/4 headers
slp catback exhaust
chip
airfoil
and new gears...3.73's?
Should I get 52mm tb?
What else??? I need to port the plenum too, I guess...I've never taken the car to the track, but I believe these cars run high 14's, low 15's stock...What kind of times could I expect with these mods?...I want at least 13's. What do you all think? Comments, answers, suggestions, what to buy? Thanks a lot...

um , if i'm not mistaken you have the borg warner 9 bolt, with 3:27 gears. upgrading this is costly.
if you do get a chip get a custom made one.
i've heard that the stock tb with airfoil is good enough for 400hp, so you really dont need the 52mm.
do all the free mods, port plenum, tb coolant bypass, gut cat, afpr.
look at my mods, i never went to the track , but i've been told i can hit high 13's.
------------------
1988 GTA Trans Am 350tpi: 42k miles,3:27 BW rear, aftermarket t-tops
Hotchkis: subframe connectors & strut tower brace
Flowmaster: 3inch exhaust& dual chamber muffler
Accel: 8.8mm wires, ignition module, cap&rotor, u-groove spark plugs
Edelbrock: 52mmTB, intake & runners
K&N: filtercharger
TPIS: 170* stat, afpr, mat relocation kit
March: performance crank and alternator pulleys
Hypertech: 176* fan switch
Other mods: ported plenum, gutted cat, tb coolant bypass
Future mods: Edelbrock tes headers, transgo shift kit& corvette servo,1.6 roller rocker arms, flux capasitor(to make time travel possible)
CAR NOT RUNNING AFTER INTAKE INSTALL!!

Yeah, you're right...I have 3.27 gears. I don't know what I was thinking. How much would it be to switch to 3.73s? So, I should be ok if I port the plenum and get an airfoil, eh...How much is an afpr? I don't know about gutting the cat...Where can I get a custom chip made? Anyone have any suggestions on a good cam, how about a ZZ9? Thanks for any input
