Good choice on the Hooker, I love mine!
.....what engine do you have? The ZZ4 cam is a good match to to the TPI/350 cars. It lopes a little, but keep in mind you engine has to "NEED" the air that big lopey cam provides. It may sound cool, but you'll lose power if you over do it. The stock TPI/350 (L98) cam is pretty good for smaller 305 TPI cars.
Keep in mind most EFI cars use a knock sensor, and CAN NOT use those noisy gear drives you're talking about. The knock sensor hears them, and will mess with the timing.

Since the stock 350 cam works well in the 305TPI, if anyone has one that they want to get rid of then send me a pm n let me know. I have an 86 that i'd like to get more power out of.

In 86, I'm pretty sure all 305's were non-roller motors, and starting in 87 (first year of the L98) all motors were roller motors.
*edit*
Sorry for being brief. What that means is you need a flat tappet cam as opposed to a roller cam like the 87 and up L98 cams. That or you can convert your non roller motor to a roller. Not sure what all is involved. It might be cheaper just to pay for a flat tappet cam.
