another cam question
im gonna be swapping to tpi here soon, and to different heads. the heads that im gonna be installing are the 187 heads, but they are 2.02/1.60 valves, ported, polished, and 1.6 roller rockers. i also have 1.5 roller rockers sittin in the attic if i need to use those. the tranny is a t-5 and right now im running 3.42 gears. what cam do you guys think i should run. i like the sound of the Comp Cams Xtreme Xfi268 roller cam. also what valve springs should i run? i thought about the beehive springs. but i dont know if that would be overkill or what. what springs should i run?

one idea i do have is that comp has a cam with the same lift and duration but the LSA is closer. if your using the tpi style intake you should try a 112 or even a 110 LSA. that will help the power build up faster. witch of couse is a good thing for LTR tpi's. and with the 110 LSA it shouldnt have too much over lap. so you can still tune it.

Re: another cam question
thanks for the input. there has been some change in plans though. for right now im not gonna run the 187 heads. because im stilling running with a 305. the heads on the 305 are still the stock tbi heads. but they have ported/polished, z28 springs, and 3 angle job. but the tpi system is still gonna be installed. and im still gonna slide a cam in to. now onto the question about beehive springs. what kind of beehive springs. i looked at jegs and summit and there is a bunch of them different seat pressures and sizes. i dont know which ones to get? i would like them to hold up to some rpm like 6000.
