need simple help

maybe the title should read "simply need help" okay, i'm trying to put the top end of my engine back together. i cant seem to figure out where the wire on my egr valve go. one end is on the base of the egr don't know where to put other end. also, where do the pcv valve connect? i have a 5.7 litre engine. any pictures with the upper plenum and runners removed would help a lot thanks

Re: need simple help

i'm putting new injectors in my car right now. i will send you so pictures if you can wait untill later tonight. if not pcv valve goes to lower base plate left hand side. and egr wire comes off valve and plugs in on left side also. the plug should be by the MAT sensor plug.

Re: need simple help

i always thought the egr valve went to that thing next to the distributer...... and i thought the pcv valve on the drivers side of the engine went to the back of the upper plenum

Re: need simple help

alright so wait, i'm sorry to jack this thread but what is EVERYTHING that the EGR needs to work? let me go through the list that i know of:

vaccum (but when does it get vaccum? only when the car is cruising? so is there any way to check if it has vaccum unless you jump out of the car when its cruising?!?!?!?)

egr soleniod (mine is brand new)

egr clogged (my entire intake is clean, including my new egr, no way its clogged)

what other things?

Re: need simple help

hey, 89n10gta great pictures! thank you so much. i'm still working on the car(off & on). now i'm havin a problem remembering how the brackets for the alt, smog pump, and air conditioning pump goes. one of the problems is that the guy who rebuilt the engine for me, put some different heads on the engine (aluminum heads from a 91 vette) the alt should go on the passenger side, but he put the heads on so that there are only two holes on the pass. side head and three holes on the driver side head. i don't think i can change the alt to the driver side. can i ? pictures of alt and brackets on pass. side would help thanks again, big john
