code 36 - the one that wont go away!

Ive had this error code for a good 7 months, i replaced the maf burnoff relay but that hasnt done anything.

If i disconnect the battery for a few seconds then start up, the light stays off on the dash, but if i switch off and restart it comes back on.

The car itself is running great, but the SES light is always on. could it be the actual MAF sensor or even worse, a problem with my ECU ?

Did you replace the power relay? Burn off power feeds from the burnoff relay through the normally closed contacts of the Power relay and then to the MAF.

This keeps the MAF from going into burn off while the engine is running.
