I need an Engine Wireing Diagram

Ok I will spare you the details, but a firned of mine had his car rebuilt and what not by some incompetent people who have neglected connecting several important sensors and leaving some wires entirely too close to the headers. I have fixed alot of the problems and am left with one big one that might be causing the other codes to hit. The Manifold Temperature Sensor is in place but is not plugged in, and the plug for it is NOWHERE to be found. It has probibly been stuffed or hidden somewhere as one of the other sensor connectors was. Instead of spending hours of time and effort to locate this hidden/clipped/or otherwise unfindable sensor I think it might be better to jsut rewire a connector. Where are the wires for this where they go into the car?

88 Pontiac GTA with the 305 TPI Automatic and i need the Air Temperature Sensor location (Sensor under the plenum all the way in the back abotu as big around as a penny or nickel, not EGR and not FPR).

thank you in advance

You can usually pick up a wiring CD for your application on E-Bay for $5.00, cheap enough.

Re: I need an Engine Wireing Diagram

ill tell my friend that....we pulled the distributor and such to try and find the connector and have had absolutely no luck. Now its jsut a matter of getting the right wire. I opened up part of the harness and found like 6 or so wires that were all tan. SO i am not sure what we are going to do. I think it would be best just to tap a new wire but dont know which one is for this sensor

Re: I need an Engine Wireing Diagram

The service manager at my local Chevy dealer took me over to the library of manuals, pulled the one I needed to look at and go over it. I said this is the one, so he xerox'ed me a copy of the page for free. You might ask.

Re: I need an Engine Wireing Diagram

The tan wire should go from the sensor back behind the engine and into the huge wiring look and follow it towards the passenger side.
Since you already opened up the loom, look where all the other tan wires go.
Keep in mind that some of them might be just aged and dirty white wires, some of them might have been originally yellow and so on. You'll need to identify the right wire, probaby the easiest would be by process of elimination.

Hope this helps.
Lou

I go to www.chevythunder.com for most of my stuff like that. It's free and a really great source.
I printed the whole site out and put it in a 3 ring binder.
