I'm trying to get my car into the high 13s. I don't know what I run because I've never taken her to the track. But check out my current mods. I have a ZZ9 cam I'm thinking of putting in but not sure.
I just want to know everyone's mods, 1/4mile, and if they have stock heads on there.
thanks

I am convinced I can get a 13.99 with all bolt ons..AND 3.08 gears. This may sound nutty but I am 6 tenths away and I think I can do it. Read this bolt on list and tell me what you think.

The only 305 TPI 5 speed I helped with,,, a friend bought a new 305 TPI 1LE 5 speed back in the late 80's early 90's (not sure which year model). Best I remember (long time ago),,, show room stock (street tires and all)it ran a high 14.80 something (via my Vericom - me in the car). This was about .35 - .4 seconds faster than a bone stock Mustang would read on my Vericom with me in the car. We installed a 160 stat, K&N filters and just took out the air deflectors - not a gutting, bumped the TPS and the timing, bolted on 26x8.5 slicks, took it to the track, slid the clutch at 4500,, rode it hard,,,, and I know it ran one 13.98,,, and a couple 14.0's!!! - before the stock clutch started a vacation. So,, depending on the shape / wear and tear of your engine - if it's in good shape,,, with your mods and sticky tire,, I'd think you should have little to no problem busting in the 13's.

Bad SS, whatd you bump the timing up to and what do you mean by air deflectors.

theformula, we bumped the base timing to 10 degrees. I say "air deflectors",, it's the thin plastic and removable deflectors that's directly under the air filters,, in the air box. They're held in there by screws. Depending on who had the car before you,, they may have already been removed,, or your air box may have already been "gutted". The trick if anything to his times was in the launch. Holding the rpms at 4500 and slidding the clutch,, adding gas,, keeping the rpms at 4500rpm,, with the rpms never droping below 4500 in first gear. Takes a while to "master",, and it's EXTREMELY hard on the clutch,, but made for very good times,, while the clutch lasted!!!!!
My best naturally aspirated time is a 14.07 with a 1.80 60-footer. This is with mods selected for a supercharger, but run without one. This would include:
52mm throttle body,
ported plenum,
TPIS large tube runners,
TPIS "Big Mouth" base,
ported/polished Corvette aluminum heads,
Pete Jackson quiet gear drive,
Stewart water pump,
Crane 2032 cam,
Crane Gold 1.6 rockers,
SLP 1-3/4" headers,
dual cats,
3" catback,
Pro Torque 10.5" 2,600 stall converter,
Stock 700R4 (with massive amounts of overlap),
GM 3.73 gears, &
Auburn limited-slip, plus
all the "free" mods.
Granted, many of my mods are really not compatible with my 305 and I'm probably slower than I should be, but I selected these mods with a supercharger in mind.
This was run with 38-degrees total advance.
My MAF airflow readings maxed out at 190 g/s. In comparison, it reaches its physical limit of 255 g/s with the supercharger creating 6 psig boost.

I ran a 14.4 @ 94mph on an all stock engine. I think I woulda hit 14.3 but I was on 89 Octane when I ran my 10 BTC, my best 1/4 mile time was on 89 Octane with 8 BTC. This also was done with tiny bit of wheel hop cause my shox and struts are shot to hell. With my new SLP 1 3/4 headers, 2 new cats, afpr, underdrive pulleys, edelbrock RPM series catback, and a rear suspension kit from Hotckis Performance I should hit around 13.9 or 13.8.
