For those with the LT4 HOT Cam and the World Products SB-Chevy Sportsman-II Heads....
I am looking into getting the LT4 HOT Cam and the World Products SB-Chevy Sportsman-II Heads for my 89 350 TPI motor. My questions are:
Is the idle real lopey, or is it actually normal?
Do I need different springs/retainers than what the assembled heads come with?
Do I need new rockers? If so,
recommendations?
What kind of power are you guys getting out of this?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

1) It has a definite lope at idle: http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/g...031/idling.mpg
2) The springs that come on the heads, if you order them as built by World, are OK to use as is. Be careful about other suppliers who buy bare heads and then assemble them with their own components. The World springs are good for .560" lift.
3)The cam is designed for 1.6 ratio rockers, which is what I use. I suppose you could use the 1.5 but you won't realize maximum performance.
4) Enough
I recommend you upgrade your induction system as well.

I agree with all of what Tom said. I had my engine built from scratch and have no regrets whatsoever. You will definately need to upgrade the intake for more airflow.
