Emission Removal Anybody???

I have a 1988 GTA and I took the cat off and where I live there are no emissions control. I was wondering if my car will still run with taking off my emission stuff. Has anybody done this, if so, is it worth it, any horsepower gains, easy to do, does it mess up your computer, and what's the best way to take it off? Thanks to all who reply.

I took my air tubes and AIR pump off. Plus I have a ZZ4 so no working EGR. Everything runs fine. I just routed the belt according too the tech article found on this site.

I removed all "smog" equipment from my Iroc. I noticed some gains as far as lighter weight, less load on engine. Accelerate faster. I have no other mods except ram air and free-flow exaust and I run 13's at 102 in the 1/4 mile in an 86 Iroc, which is supposed to have 190hp stock. The only prob I have is when I am on the highway my check engine light comes on with a code 32 but it doesn't affect performance. Only way to get rid of the code is to get a custom prom with the emissions controls deleted. Go for it.

code 32 is for egr, not air pump or catalytic converter

160mph??? I doubt it out of an unmodified 305. the Z06 barely does that. 0-60 in 5.5
seconds, nah. I'd love to see that time slip!
