COLD AIR

I have a 1991 WS6 TA 305 TPI. I was wondering about cold air induction. The only option i see right now is the SLP version, it is 189$. Are there other options? CHeaper or more expensive? Or is the SLP the best, is says it will free up 20 horse, is it worth it??? Does it work as well as they say?? or are threre better roads to take???

Go with the SLP from what I hear they are the best especially for us 3rd geners.

SLP ones are nice, but expensive. If you are on a tight budget like many of us are, you can get creative and make one yourself. I have seen many homemade jobs that actually look good. (some not so good either). I made mine for about $40. Here is what I used:

3" exhaust, with a bend, primed, basecoat and clearcoated.
Elbow from an '88 firebird, turned upside down.
Cone filter w/ a 3" coupler.

As for it actuall working, my relocated temp sensor read 66*F when I checked it w/ a scantool, so it worked.

As for performance, I gained a solid .2 on my 1/8th mile time over the Throttle body filter.
