Need info!, tough situation!
Well, i was finnally getting around to fixing/upgrading my car and then it started getting worse, until to the point now where it is undrivable.
I think its the timing chain, With EST bypassed, I can see it jump up and down +/- 2 or 3 degrees, and when u try to rev it up it acts like its on a rev limiter. ( with the est connected..) and when u put a load on the motor it just has no power, bucky misfires and the whole bit.
I Checked fuel pressure recently( month or so), and it was fine at 40 ish psi But all that could have changed, although i don't think so.
I'm edging myself towards the thought thats its a timing chain, and as i'm on limited time constraint. ( i have about a week to get it drivable again)
I Say to myself, why not eliminate any other possibility's?
So im picking up these parts -
-zz4 camshaft
-16 Roller lifters
-Aluminum Roller rockers ( why not upgrade while its apart?)
-Double roller timing chain
-Gaskets ( water pump, timing cover, intake gaskets etc)
Now, the thing is since i have all my tools ( such as they are) at work
what tools will i need to do this job, the intake i know i need a t-40 but i have heard horror storys about the TPI intake, would a 3/8 drive with a 3 and 6 inch extention do it ( and a swivel?)
what other tools besides the Pullers and the 14/13 for the belt?
i Know i will have to drop the oil pan bolts in the front, what size are those and anything else that might surprise me and be a pain in the ***?
