I wouldent say you'd gain some horsepower if you drove around with the a/c off anyways. But you would lose some weight. maybe 40 lbs or so. Plus you gain better airflow to the radiator cause the condenser will be gone.

Well you will gain like 5HP from it. I removed mine and noticed a difference in the upper RPMs. Its basically like installing a 2piece power pully set. YOur belt will put less drag on the crank. Even with the A/C off it would cause some extra drag on the crank just from traveling over it. If you do it poperly like I did, remove everything and replace you firewall cover with one for a car without A/C you will lose like 50 lbs or more. I forget howuch it all weighed. SO if you consider 50lbs off your frontend (most important place to remove it from) and 5HP extra you should feel a little difference. What if you relocated your battery to the back at the same time? Then you could remove like 100lbs from the front of your car, add 50 or so to the rear, and gain 5hp? Smething to consider.
