factory 305 TPI HO 87 IROC Z28
now supposedly all 350 TPIs would generate more power than 305 TPIs straight out of the factory. But I've owned an 87 IROC Z28 with a 305 TPI high output and a 5 speed. I raced other 305 TPI 5-speeds and 350 TPIs and my car would absolutely blow the doors off of any of those cars. I also raced several 5.0 mustangs and could win every time, which was unheard of.(love doing that to those big headed losers) 99 mustang was the first year of the stock mustang I could not beat. I have not been able to find any information on this particular engine or package. From info I"ve gathered off the net this engine did not exist. Any site only lists the 305 TPI 5-speed as having 215hp which I know mine had several more hp. They all list that package as being the only available 305 TPI package ever available. Only mod to this car was exhaust.

Re: factory 305 TPI HO 87 IROC Z28
Friend of mine that introduced me to third gens had a 1985 TPI Camaro and a 1989 5 speed Z28 with a 305 TPI. This car had a single 3in exhaust from the factory log manifolds and would sit on the bumper of a 1997 6 speed LT1. He constantly got accused of having nitrous on the car. This car sported regular drum brakes and a posi 3.08 rear end and it was absolutly insane. The car was for 100% sure stock he knew the original owner. The car didnt' seem like anything special but it ran like an SOB. Now as for this being a "305 TPI HO" car I doubt that, I just think he had a really strong running 305 that was mated to a well geared T5 with the proper air plane tall gears that worked with the torque curve of the TPI.
P.S. his redline on the tach was 5500rpm.
P.P.S. I'm not even going to get into the argument about the camshafts and MAF vs Sd stuff, I know the cam specs, I know the exhaust specs for the cars I wouldn't even have posted this because of the inevitable argument but I vividly remember this car, it's what got me to buy my first Camaro, and yes this car was stupid fast, it wasn't just a fluke race; he raced this car alot.

just wanna know if anybody has information on what might of been a rare 305 TPI HO as it seems regular 305 TPIs had a smaller and more restrictive exhaust and noticably a lot less power

in 1989 they did have two 305's and 350's tpi but that was 89. i don't know why you would have had anything different in an 87. but the RPO code of N10 on a tpi motor as 89 would have been high output i guess.
