BACKFIREING...please help.

Give me a motor and Ill blueprint balance assemble etc.. But when it comes to the electrical forget it......

Heres the problem.. car has been sitting for awhile since i moved up north. I just replaced the modual with a POS wells one just to drive it till I can get a mds on the way from summit.

Anyways I know the timing/TPI/IAC etc. is right. on all wires are on the right plugs etc. but its poping through the exh bad.

Someone told me maybe the distrib is bad and to replace it with a vacume adv. one. would be better. But I know with TPI this shouldnt be done. Id rather just go with a MSD distrib for my car since I have msd everything else. valves are set right etc.
I hate to pay 300 for a dist. and that not be it.

I had JIM FORMATO do my chip and it was on a chassi dyno at ramsies perf.

Not knowing anybody in my new area sucks. So any advice would be great. Any motor info you need can be found on my site in sig.

EDIT BTW no codes have been triped.

I had a similar problem and went through a module a week. The pickup had an intermitant open. Popping banging and missing until it wouldn't start at all. Change the module and it would run like a champ for maybe a week, then it would start all over again. This drove me nuts because the pickup tested fine. I took it out and wiggled the small wires and there it wuz! I got a MSD late model small cap distrib and never had a prob again...

Thats along the line im thinking. I figure maybe i pinched a wire putting the cap back on.

Cuz it went from a BEAST or a car to slugish at 1st then when i get on it its a raped ape again at high rpms. Ill just get a new MSD DIST. and coil..

THANKS.
