Peanut cam or no peanut cam?
There's been some discussion as to whether m '92 Z28 with its stock 305 TPI motor had the 'peanut cam' or not. The concern came from the fact that the car was not a
G92 car but came with a 3.08 drum brake posi rear end.
I took the car over to MMS this morning and threw it on the dyno. Here's the pertinent info:
Orig 100% stock 305 TPI motor with 65k mi
Stock exhaust manifolds stock'ish y-pipe
No cat 3" cat back to single out Flowmaster
Moroso underdrive pulleys
No AC
No smog equipment at all
Stock air intake
The car pulled 221hp and 289tq at the rear wheels.
Guess that means I don't have the peanut cam.

How'd I know MrJ would be all over this post.
Funny how my dad's car was 175 HP and 290 TQ and Nick's is 221 HP and 289 TQ. Guess it doesnt matter what cam you have, you're gonna have a lot of torque with TPI.
