091 vs 093 heads

I have an '87 5.7 TPI with tired 091 heads on it. I can get a set of fresh 093 heads. They have the same size valves, but the combustion chambers are a different design. Good idea or not?

Re: 091 vs 093 heads

Do you mean 083 heads? I haven't heard of 093 before. 083's are pretty weak standard 350 tpi heads. Heavy, not much room for improvement, not worth the $$$. If you're looking for stock replacements, they should work fine.

Also you said you have 091 heads? Can you provide the entire casting number? THose don't sound familiar either.

Sorry, I meant 191 and 193. It has tired 4102191s on it now, what I can get a good deal on is 14102193s.
