Symptoms of a bad TPS sensor?

What are some of the signs your TPS sensor is outa whack or sticking. Car is having some idling, light throttle response issues, wondering if this could be the cause.

best way to check is use a volt meter with an analog display. turn your key on but not started. Slowly move your throttle by hand and watch the display. If it moves smoothly then there are no bad spots on your TPS. Then check your actual voltage reading at full throttle and idle for the TPS.

I knew mine was bad when I let off the throttle and still had 1.13 volts.

Re: Symptoms of a bad TPS sensor?

I would just buy a new one. There only $20 and if you still have the original its going to need to be replaced sooner or later.

When mine went out i had a rough idle and when i was accelerating it was sputtering. Also my check engine light came on, and when I scaned the code it came up as the tps, so that made it easy enough.
