Any Ideas?

My car has been spit sputtering at idle lately so i decided to give it some gas hoping maybe it would clear out something. Well as im in 2nd and the rpms are rising all of a sudden the car seems to just stall out.

It shuts down engine wise and i started hitting the gas pedal to give it gas hpoing i culd get it back. No luck. It sputtered a bit and then just stalled out. I still had all electrics. I then tried to restart the car after letting it sit for 5 minutes. It kicked over for a second then nothing.

I towed it home then sprayed some starter fluid in it and tried to start it. It did the same thing. Any ideas. I'm guessing its the fuel pump. I know i should check it with a fuel pressure gauge and w/e. but I thought i would post this.

Re: Any Ideas?

Sounds like the fuel pump is failing. I would check that first. If that is ok, then check the module in the distributor.

Hope this helps!
