Still running like ****

Compression. 150 psi on all 8
( using 3 crank method)

Timing 6 degrees
TPS .55
IAC adjusted
Fuel pressure Aprox 43 Psi
new plugs, Wires are good and in correct firing order.
Mass air Circuit tested, Working perfectly, and at the time the MAF was outputting the correct numbers. ( As i recall 800 ~ Millivolts @ 900 Rpm )
Runs like this MAF plugged in or not
No Vacuum leaks, Or not one big enough to cause it to run like it is...
Distributor Has no awkward Play, newer Cap and Rotor
Valves adjusted While running 1/2 turn past 0 lash, No clattering

* Recent Work*
( still ran like *** before the work, i was hoping this would cure it)

Ecm
Timing chain( Old one was sloppy as hell)
zz4 Cam
24 pound fuel injectors
new roller lifters
BBK AFPR
And all associated gaskets

thats all i can think of at the time.

Thanks!

Re: Still running like ****

Did you program for the chip and cam? Mixture is going to be off with those 24lb injectors. You will need to programing in the chip.

Re: Still running like ****

24 lb injectors are 9 percent of from 22 pnd, the computer can compensate up to 16 percent

Re: Still running like ****

Ignition module, pickup coil in dist., coil, or engine grounding are all big crap makers if all else is good. Could also be a bad ECU (the 165 isn't the most robust ECU out there).

Check spark with a timing light to see if it's firing all the time on all the cylinders. Check spark with a spare plug on each cylinder to see if it's nice looking or weak.

ECM has been replaced

I looked with a timing light and detected a small skip on a few cylinders

im going to double check all fuses today and possibly tighten some grounds

Re: Still running like ****

Distributor had alot of play in it, and it needs a bronze gear but

I threw it back in, i have a white/blue strong spark now

Runs much better now

Maybe i just need a new distributor
