Will a 84 carb fuel tank work in a 86 tpi car as a replacement?

I just removed the gas tank from my 86 tpi trans am and I noticed that tank is all rusted through on top. Fuel leaks out if tank is full. I have a extra 84 fuel tank out of an 305 carbed motor camaro. Do u think it will work? Do the tpi fuel tanks have diferent baffles inside to control the fuel slosh better?

It will fit and work no problem. I would run an inline pump with it though. You may also have to modify one of the tanks vent tubes to use as a return line. The return lines should be run low into the tank to prevent a lot of splashing that can create static... so I'm told (never seen static in a fuel tank)
